Made in Australia, it is so totally different to anything else available. If you have a horse that you just can’t seem to get comfortable in a bit for any reason, this bit has got to be worth a try as we have had fantastic results already!

The Pee Wee bit:

• Provides maximum control with minimum pressure
• Helps less physical riders control large head strong horses
• Assists in re-educating problem horses
• Good for horses with big tongues/fleshy mouths, or those that dislike having a bit in their mouth at all as it takes up so little space and allows so much more room for the tongue.
• Give faster education of young horses due to a precise clear signal which minimizes confusion -- a must for horse breakers.
• Prevents your horse getting its tongue over the bit
• 3 different positions for use to suit all stages of training

Sizes available:

Standard (S) Fits horses from pony (12.2hh) to warmblood (16.2hh) or horses/ponies normally in approx 4” - 5 ½” in a traditional bit.

Large (L) Fits over 16.2hh or horses normally in a 6” - 7” bit.

Designed by a horseman, for horsemen and women!

Pee Wee Stevenson designed the bit to solve the many problems he faced with traditional bits and to provide an advantage whislt keeping the horse relaxed, making life easier for horse and rider. The Pee Wee Bit provides benefits for both Horse & Rider by Improving Communication and Performance.

The Pee Wee Bit is gentle, acceptable to the softest mouth, providing maximum control with less pressure, preventing injury to the sensitive parts of the horse’s mouth. What makes the Pee Wee Bit unique is the way it delivers a clear & direct signal. The Bit avoids placing pressure on the sensitive parts of the mouth, is light and comfortable, which is very acceptable to the horse. Traditional bits can cause discomfort and pain, and send a broken signal which causes confusion. Common problems which you will be familiar with include pinching of the sensitive parts of the mouth lips and tongue, and the nut cracker effect which causes pain to the roof of the mouth and sides of the bars.

There is no confusion or broken signals. With pressure on both reins the signal is to the top of the bars, encouraging the horse to tuck his chin and flex at the pole. When asking for a turn, the signal is to the side of the lower jaw only. This means you can control even the most stubborn horse with the minimum amount of pressure and avoid pain. This is a totally different method from any other horse bit, which is what makes it so unique!

Pee Wee Stevenson, a horseman all his life and having used a wide variety of horse tack, has called on his many years of working with horses to develop what is widely considered the best horse bit available - bar none! The Pee Wee Bit allows the rider to use the minimum amount of pressure for maximum control.

Horse bits are one of the most important parts of the tack, providing communication between horse and rider - horse bits should work by the use of pressure, not pain. Unfortunately, even the mildest bit can hurt the horse... And no one wants to hurt the sensitive mouth of their horse.

"...when the horse is soft the bit stays quiet in the mouth however as soon as the horse tries to evade the jaw control comes into effect giving an instant softening response.”

The Pee Wee Bit is suitable for all disciplines including hacking, endurance, show jumping, eventing, Schooling for dressage, driving, reigning, polo, thoroughbred & harness racing- anything you and your horse fancy trying!

Revolution In Horse Bit Design

The Pee Wee bit works like no other. A common bit, horse bits haven’t really changed over the last 100 years, and work by the bit being placed in a space behind the front "cutting" teeth and in front of the back "grinding" teeth. This space is known as the "bar". The bit then contacts various part of the mouth (tongue, roof of mouth and bars). The horse will then yield from the area of pressure. The bit can be very painful.

"I love the fact that the bit is very gentle on the horses mouth and yet due to the clear direct signals I get incredible control with such light pressure."

Very Acceptable to the Horse

The Pee Wee Bit has a smooth curved sweet iron mouth bar which lays comfortably over the horse’s tongue which makes it very acceptable to the horse. The amazing control of the bit comes from specific placement of angled side bars which only contact the lower jaw. It is the position of these bars which give very direct and precise signals to the horse encouraging the horse to yield from this area of pressure.

This creates a faster learning curve for young horses and equally to older horses with mouthing problems. Only light pressure is needed to control the horse. Slight pressure on the reins also raises the bar in the mouth which helps prevent the age old problem of horses getting their tongues over the bit.
