Full Cheek With Hooks

Design: A ring with spindle where the mouthpiece is fixed onto the ring. Spindle top is bent away from ring to prevent rubbing.

Function: Direct action - when pressure is exerted on the reins same amount of pressure is exerted on the mouth. Sends more of a direct signal than loose ring. Will not pinch or pull through mouth. When spindles are attached to the bridle cheekpiece with the use of a bit keeper the bit offers slight poll pressure. When reins are pulled back the rings tilt slightly forward and offer a subtle downward pressure on the poll.

Usage: Used in English disciplines.

Options: One hook is available on Full Cheeks. The hook fixes the attachment of reins and allows bit to work like a leverage bit. When the reins are pulled upward and backward the mouthpiece rolls downward and backward in the mouth while pulling downward on the poll.

The Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel with Roller Mouthpiece (MB 02)

Design: Curved mouthpiece with 1 1/4 inch jointed center barrel with copper roller.

Function: With pressure on both reins, uses pinch and restrict with a release – restricts the tongue and collapses on the bars. Pressure is dispersed across the wide centre barrel as it rolls down into the tongue. To allow a rider to lift one side off the tongue to the bar, each side of the mouthpiece moves independently. Roller apeases busy-mouthed horses.

Options: Regular or Twisted Wire (MB 03T - available to order)

Usage/Solution For: The MB 03 is an alternative to a regular nutcracker-action Snaffle or Bristol-type mouthpiece. Independant side movement allows the rider to isolate one side and lift the shoulder. Working primarily off the the tongue and bars, the MB 03 is a good choice for young horse learning to bend and balance.
